Activities in Oslo
At the Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica you will find activities that no other hotels in Oslo can offer. Within a stone's throw away from the hotel, you will find the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, the Ski Museum and the beautiful Holmenkollen Chapel.
The hotel sits on top of the hill like a royal residence with a view over half the kingdom. On the one hand you have the view over the city and the fjord, as beautiful dressed in pure white snow as bathed in the summer sun. On the other side there's the forest with its many paths and hiking opportunities. The beautiful area surrounding the hotel offers a wide variety activities that suits all ages and interests, in addition to some of Oslo's main tourist attractions.
Oslo is known for its green surroundings and many hiking opportunities, and Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica is a natural starting point for exiting experiences. Whether you like to get up at the crack of dawn or end the evening with a moonlight ride, we have activities that suits you. There's also good opportunities for those who wish to become acquainted with the uniqueness of Norway, namely the skiing culture.
Of all the activities and attractions, the Holmenkollen ski jump is the jewel in the Holmenkollen Park. More than 100 years old and rebuilt 14 times, it stands today as a modern ski arena with a stunning view over the capitol. The ski jump recently got its new tower to meet the FIS requirements before the Ski World Cup 2011. With large spotlights placed on the top of the jump tower, it is a spectacular view that can be seen from all over the capitol.
Among our activities connected with the ski jump are abseiling from the jump tower, biathlon, snowball throwing and barbecues. What about organizing a little summer or winter Olympics in Oslo with self-selected activities for your family, colleagues or business partners?
The Ski Museum was opened in 1923 and is the world's oldest ski museum. The exhibitions includes equipment from Fridtjof Nansen's and Roald Amundsen's arctic expeditions. The museum is also a suited place to start the evening's activities. Maybe with an aperitif before dinner, or perhaps an intimate concert at Holmenkollen Chapel, with a small torchlight procession between the hotel and the chapel?
